Andorra has no airport of its own, so you fly to a nearby airport and finish the trip by road. Most travellers use Barcelona–El Prat (BCN) or Toulouse–Blagnac (TLS) and continue by bus or car. A small airport in Spain, Andorra–La Seu d’Urgell (LEU), has limited regular flights and is closest to the border.
Main Airports for Andorra
| Airport | Distance to Andorra | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Barcelona–El Prat (BCN) | About 200 km | Most flight choices and direct buses |
| Toulouse–Blagnac (TLS) | About 185 to 190 km | Travellers from France and a direct bus |
| Andorra–La Seu d’Urgell (LEU) | About 12 to 15 km from the border | Short hops from Madrid or Palma |
The official Andorra tourism site also lists other airports within about 200 km, including Girona–Costa Brava, Reus, Perpignan, Carcassonne and Alguaire. Distances come from the official how-to-get-here page and published travel guides.
How to Get From Each Airport to Andorra
From Barcelona–El Prat
Several bus companies run direct services between Barcelona airport or Sants station and Andorra la Vella. Published guides give a journey time of about three to four and a half hours, depending on stops. By car, the drive takes around two and a half to three hours in normal traffic. Andorra’s official bus site, busandorra.com, helps you find lines.
From Toulouse–Blagnac
Andbus runs a direct service from Toulouse airport to Andorra la Vella’s bus station, and its timetable shows a journey of about three and a half hours. See the airport’s bus page and check current times, because schedules change.
From Andorra–La Seu d’Urgell
This airport is in Catalonia, not in Andorra. Air Nostrum operates regular flights to Madrid and Palma, and the Andorran government says these routes continue through 2026. The airport handled 19,160 passengers in 2025. After you land, take a bus or taxi across the border. Days and times are limited, so check the schedule before you book.
Main Airlines and Routes
Barcelona–El Prat and Toulouse–Blagnac are large international airports, and many airlines serve them. The mix changes by season, so check each airport’s departures page for carriers that fly from your city. The only scheduled service to Andorra–La Seu d’Urgell that we could confirm is Air Nostrum, with flights to Madrid and Palma. We don’t list flight times here, because they vary by route and season.
Trains and Buses
Andorra has no train station. The official tourism site says trains from Toulouse and other French cities reach L’Hospitalet-près-l’Andorre, from where you continue by bus or taxi. On the Spanish side, you can take a train to Lleida and then a bus. Scheduled international coaches connect Andorra with more than twenty destinations in Spain, France and Portugal.
After You Land
Once you land, local travel is by road. Our getting around Andorra guide covers buses, taxis, car rental and winter driving rules inside the country.
Time Zone
Andorra uses Central European Time, the same as Spain and France. Clocks go forward in spring and back in autumn, so check the offset for your travel date.
Which Route Should You Choose?
- Choose Barcelona if you want the widest choice of flights and the most bus options.
- Choose Toulouse if you’re coming from France or want a direct bus with fewer city transfers.
- Choose La Seu d’Urgell if you’re flying from Madrid or Palma and want the shortest road leg.
- Choose a hire car if you’re carrying ski gear or visiting several valleys.
Booking Tips
- Compare the total journey, not just the flight. A cheap flight can cost more once you add the bus and time.
- Don’t book a tight connection. Passport checks and bus transfers can run late.
- Check ski equipment rules and fees with both the airline and the bus company.
- Expect longer waits at the border on busy winter weekends and holiday periods, and allow extra time if you have a fixed flight home.
- In winter, ask your hire company about snow tyres or chains.
Before You Fly Checklist
- Check your visa and passport rules, using our Andorra visa guide.
- Allow extra time at border control in Spain or France, since the EU Entry/Exit System now registers many non-EU visitors.
- Download or screenshot your bus ticket and hotel address.
- Carry proof of onward travel and accommodation.
- Buy travel insurance, especially if you plan to ski.
