Most international flights to Belarus land at Minsk National Airport (MSQ), about 42 km east of the capital, according to Wikipedia. Belavia, the national airline, flies to cities in Russia, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Turkey and the UAE, and a few foreign airlines also serve Minsk. The US State Department says flights are scarce and can be cancelled at short notice.

Which Airport Serves Belarus?

Minsk National Airport (MSQ) is the main international airport. The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also lists regional airports in Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Mogilev and Vitebsk as points of entry under its 30-day visa-free rule. Check the current schedule before you plan to use a regional airport, because international services there change often.

The US State Department says the FAA bans US carriers and operators from the Minsk Flight Information Region, so US airlines don’t fly there.

How to Reach Minsk from the Airport

Wikipedia lists these options from the airport to the city:

  • Bus: Services 300ะญ and 173ะญ run from the Centralny bus station. Shuttle buses 1400-TK and 1430-ะขะš also run from the airport to Minsk.
  • Taxi: Taxi and parking services are provided.
  • Road: The M2 motorway links the airport to Minsk.
  • Train: The airport rail link was suspended indefinitely in April 2017, according to Wikipedia.

A 2015 Belarus Digest article gave about 40 minutes by taxi and about an hour by bus, but those figures are dated. Confirm current times and fares locally.

Airlines Flying to Minsk

Wikipedia’s airport entry, checked in October 2026, lists these airlines. Routes change often, and some are seasonal or charter, so check each airline’s own site.

Travel Inside Belarus After You Land

Domestic trains, buses, car hire, taxis and city transport are covered in our guide to getting around Belarus, and our Belarus itineraries show how routes connect.

Land Alternatives

Some travellers enter by road or rail. Canada says Poland, Latvia and Lithuania have closed some crossings and may close more with little notice, and the US State Department says land borders can close without warning. Our Belarus visa guide lists the crossings Canada says were open to cars and buses.

Booking Tips

  • Book flexible fares, since flights can be cancelled at short notice.
  • Check that you’re eligible for visa-free entry on your arrival airport. Flights from Russia don’t qualify for the 30-day rule, according to the Embassy of Belarus in Indonesia.
  • The UK Foreign Office updated its advice on 10 September 2026 about buying flight tickets for journeys starting in or within Russia. Read it before booking any route that touches Russia.
  • Check that your travel insurance covers travel to Belarus. The UK Foreign Office warns that travelling against its advice may invalidate insurance.

Time Zone

Belarus uses UTC+3 all year, so there is no daylight saving change. Plan for jet lag if you arrive from North America or East Asia.
